British artist and designer Frederick Griffin was born in Nottingham. He studied under the sculptor Joseph Else and attended Nottingham Art School. He is well known for his commercial work, including posters designed for British Railways and other transport companies during the 1960s. He also exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, London.
