Robert Fogell
Contemporary artist Robert Fogell is a British sculptor and gallery owner. Combining his initial interests of classical and modern stone sculpture, his work is characterised by symmetry and proportion, geometric structures, and the exploration of organic elements, ‘testing the principles [of] positive and negative mass’ (Robert Fogell Gallery).
Trained in sculpture conservation, he has additionally worked for major public and private collections, restoring pieces from the British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum, to the National trust and English Heritage.
In 2006, he opened the Robert Fogell Gallery, exhibiting his own works alongside other British contemporary and modern artists, and participating in the Cambridge Art Fair. He continues to produce compact yet lyrical forms, pursing clarity and rhythmic harmony through simplicity.
